Nero 7 is a suite of disc-burning tools which enables you to experience your digital media in the best possible way. This powerful software allows you to transform your digital photos into professional animated slide-shows, backup all of your valuable data, manage or search your media files, edit video or photos, create DVDs (including menus), and stream your files over a media server, and compress files to take on the fly. Nero 7 also offers support for new technologies (such as 5.1 and 7.1 audio, Blu-ray discs, and HDV video) and major improvements to the DVD creation and backup tools.
As regards the interface, it shows some improvements and offers a colorful wizard screens that let you choose programs by task and make the program easier for those who are not familiar with this kind of programs. Once you've selected a task (burning an audio CD or making a photo slide show, for example), Nero opens the appropriate application. A great disadvantage is that it requires a lot of system memory, so make sure you have the room before installing it.

Nero 8, version 8.1.3.2 makes a great product even better. I've used Nero since 5.x, and Nero 8.x since its release.
Just downloaded Nero 8.3.1.2 Update. It's is a huge download, 183MB. I Used Free Download Manager, which I love. FDM is
essential for big downloads that take time, even on a broadband conneciton.)
Installing the Update also takes time, but completed perfectly. First the installer had to remove the 8.2.1.0 version. After a
reboot, when I restarted the 8.3.1.2 Install it completed flawlessly. It even kept the License Key.
As always, Nero adds small enhancements, without creeping into feature bloat. For years Nero has been a leader in supporting new
drives and media almost as soon as they appear in the market.
